A more sustainable and uniform alternative to milled, micrometer-length fiber

Ultra short precision chopped fibers are used to enhance thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, and insulative properties depending on fiber selection. We offer ultra short precision chopped carbon, oxidized PAN (OPAN), and nickel-coated carbon fibers, which can be used in solid or liquid composite applications.

We can support any custom chop length ranging from 0.15 mm to 8 mm (including standard SI lengths of 0.25, 0.5, and 1 mm), as well as imperial units of 1/32″ and 1/16″.

Standard products are processed from epoxy-sized standard modulus carbon fiber. Intermediate modulus carbon fiber and/or modified sizings may be utilized on a custom basis for tailored needs.

OPAN fibers are processed from your choice of hydrophobic or hydrophilic-sized materials.

Nickel-coated carbon fibers are available in 20 or 40 weight % nickel.

Ultra Short Precision Chopped Carbon Fiber

Sustainably sourced carbon fibers make an ideal material for applications requiring < 2 mm length fibers for enhanced electrical or thermal conductivity.

Typical uses include fillers for epoxy, urethanes, adhesives, or foams for enhanced mechanical, thermal, or electrical properties. Example applications include heat dissipation in foam mattresses, epoxy patch repair (aviation, industrial), and seam or adhesive strengthening.

Ultra Short Precision Chopped OPAN Fiber

Oxidized polyacrylonitrile (OPAN) fibers are a cost-effective material with exceptional thermal resistance.

Typical applications include insulative seams, automotive brakes and abrasives, thermal liners and shielding, filtration, battery casings, and insulative blankets.

Ultra Short Precision Chopped Nickel-Coated Carbon Fiber

Nickel-coated carbon fiber is a multifunctional material that combines the structural performance of carbon fiber with the electrically conductive properties of nickel.

Typical applications include fillers to improve EMI/RF shielding in epoxies, paints, or caulk, conductive plastics for medical and automotive uses, conductive paints, caulks, and battery shielding materials.

Example Applications

Conductive pastes and fillers
Conductive epoxies and paints
Electrical sensors
Aerospace structural filler repair
Thermally conductive foams

Why Choose Omnia Products?

Dual Focus

We specialize in both coating and chopping, which uniquely positions us to support your custom needs.

Uniformity

Compared to milled carbon fiber, our ultra precision chopped fibers have tighter length distribution.

Sustainability

We source post-industrial waste carbon fiber, leading to a 79% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to virgin material.

Less Contamination

We specialize in carbon based fibers with dedicated equipment to prevent cross contamination with other materials. In addition, our tungsten carbide blades prevent metal contamination that is common in milling processes.
